AMA with Sasha 1/3/24
Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Q & A
Q: Will Waves be doing different airdrops to attract attention?
Sasha: Of course! That's what we're doing right now, and we've started a marketing campaign linking up with the upcoming Units.Network retrodrop. I suggest to check out its page
Q: Sasha, what do you think about the current state of the crypto market?
Sasha: I think the speculative pressure on it is very high, there is a lot of attention centered around BTC, I think it has some potential.
Q: Any plans on locking and reducing the supply of the WAVES token?
Sasha: I think that as new DeFi projects appear and Units.Network is launched, more and more tokens will be taken out of circulation. Not to mention that the launch of new L2 side-chains will also have a positive impact on WAVES, as it will be necessary for miners to maintain these networks and get their rewards for validating blocks.
Q: At the moment the conversion of new deposits in -WXG tokens on Vires.Finance is suspended. When will it be up again?
Sasha: Yes, 100 million XTN have been allocated for the conversion, but users have already used them up and got their funds back. The conversion will resume when the price of XTN increases a bit, because at the current market rate, there are not enough funds for conversion.
Q: When will NSBT become interesting again? When will it start getting fees from transactions on the Neutrino smart contract again?
Sasha: I think it will happen after Neutrino Index is launched, but while the project is being developed on the Ethereum network, the release takes a bit longer, as it is a new development environment for the team. Regarding timing, I think it's a matter of a couple of months.
Q: What would be the benefit of Neutrino Index? Why invest in it?
Sasha: Neutrino Index builds on the idea of Puzzle liquidity pools, in which a number of tokens are staked at once, which themselves will represent the index of the pool. And naturally, the more diversified the pool is, the more stable the price of its index token will be.
Q: Will WAVES be included in the token index pool?
Sasha: As far as I'm aware, yes!
Q: One of the biggest nodes right now is not voting to activate Feature 22!
Sasha: Yes, I already contacted them and they told me that they are on vacation right now! It's definitely not good that one node can suspend a blockchain update like this, but it's good that this problem has presented itself, and we'll have to resolve it.
Q: Should we expect any news about Numeris in the near future?
Sasha: I don't think we should expect any news until Units.Network launches.
Q: Will there be a new stablecoin in the ecosystem?
Sasha: Personally I don't have any good ideas about hard-peg stablecoins, at the moment I have some ideas about a soft-peg Index token.
Q: Which will restart first NSBT or VIRES?
Sasha: That would be NSBT.
Q: What about Telegram? Does Waves plan to implement some kind of bot?
Sasha: There are such ideas, for example, to organize a full-fledged DAO inside Telegram, I think it is quite feasible on the basis of Power DAO.
Q: I'm planning to implement XTN as a primary means of payment in one of my projects! Do you think this is a reasonable decision?
Sasha: Not sure, as eventually all of XTN will be bought back! So your users will simply have nothing to pay with. I think using the WAVES token would make more sense.
Q: Is there an updated roadmap for Waves 2.0?
Sasha: There is a fairly detailed roadmap on Units.Network being prepared, but for Waves 2.0 I can describe the upcoming plans. We are now launching Waves 1.5 which is needed to launch Units.Network, after which we will start working on Waves 2.0 towards the end of this year.
Q: Can XTN still be swapped for L2MP?
Sasha: Of course!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about BAI?
Sasha: This is an AI project from long-time users of the ecosystem who are trying to connect with AI platforms via blockchain.
