AMA with Sasha 13/10/23

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• The first protocol of the Waves ecosystem has moved its governance to Power DAO and created the Neutrino DAO! That means you have little time left to stake your gNSBT tokens! The holder snapshot will happen before the end of this AMA Session! You can expect news on the WX DAO launch next week too.
• The PETE marketing campaign has also been successfully launched! The airdrop has already happened, the awards are about to be distributed. And now there is a trading contest, in which 5 most active traders will share an award in PETE tokens! There will also be a staking contest. It is also quite possible that next week we will get news about the ERC20 gateway for PETE.
• Waves 1.5 has already launched on StageNet! This is an interim update that will allow to create simplified (Lite) nodes. The launch of this update on TestNet is expected at the end of October, and the final release should happen at the beginning of next year.

Q & A

Q: Are you planning to launch a satellite system or other method of exchanging data on blockchain?
Sasha: That's a pretty ambitious idea! It would be great to fulfill it, but for now let's focus on L2. In general, in the future I would like to create a more decentralized alternative to the internet, as building decentralized platforms on a centralized basis is not really feasible in my opinion. 

Q: Will there be a possibility to enter WX DAO exclusively with PWR tokens?

Sasha: Yes, what's more, I want to make the entry option for this DAO permanent so that new users can invest their funds even after it launches.

Q: Can you tell us anything else about WX DAO?
Sasha: I think we should wait until Monday first. Then the release of the landing page should happen. However, I can tell you now that overall it will be very similar to Neutrino DAO. The WX team will donate several million WX tokens, you can also get PWR tokens at a discount, all gWX holders will get PWR tokens automatically. The goal of the DAO will be to stimulate the growth of the WX price.

Q: Have you had a chance to try out http://binaries.market/ yet?

Sasha: Yes, I think their platform looks extremely interesting and I hope they successfully accomplish all the goals!

Q: Is there any plan for the remaining (not delisted) -WXG tokens? Is there any way to accelerate their buyback?

Sasha: I've got a few ideas for this, however I'd like to work them out a bit, I think I'll have something to announce next week. 

Q: When will the situation with stuck deposits on Vires V1 marketplaces be resolved?

Sasha: We planned to implement vesting for these deposits last week, however the developers did not have time to fulfill it, so the start of vesting is postponed to next week.

Q: What do you think WCT's role is now?

Sasha: I think it's reasonable to say that WCT had originally a governance role, but now $POWER has taken over and has essentially been replaced by it! I think WCT can find a role as its main holders are long-time Waves ecosystem members and I would be happy to hear their suggestions.

Q: Don't you think it's time to return the Neutrino Protocol fee to the NSBT holders, and take that functionality away from the SURF token?

Sasha: Yeah, I think we should definitely do that.

Q: The PEPE Team has voiced their desire to get rid of 1.3 million XTN tokens. Why not make an OTC transaction with them?

Sasha: Makes sense, I think anyone willing to do this deal can do it. 

Q: How's the progress of the XTN burn going?

Sasha: It's going great, but I think it's time we shift our attention to the L2MP token and encourage holders to swap. As soon as L2MP has its main utility (Mining), it will be time for that. It will also relieve the pressure on the price of WAVES caused by constant buyback.

Q: Are WAVES holders still in for the PWR airdrop?

Sasha: Of course! There are 7 more airdrops awaiting them, but each one is waiting for the right moment.

Q: What is the future of the VIRES token? Is there any kind of development awaiting it?

Sasha: During the last AMA I expressed my desire to create a new lending protocol with a new name, while keeping the token. That is, to distribute the supply of the new token among VIRES holders. The main difference of the new protocol will be the stable fee for loans. The borrower will be obliged to repay the fee every week in order to keep their collateral.

Q: And if they don't?

Sasha: Their collateral is liquidated for the amount of the debt. I've also been informed that V2 markets Vires did not receive their rewards in the VIRES token for providing liquidity. The distribution will resume. I think this should bring attention back to the protocol.
