AMA with Sasha 17/5/24

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• This week our community of miners had a chance to test the Units Network nodes. About 10 nodes have already been launched, and next week these nodes will go public and everyone will be able to launch their node on the Units Network TestNet.
• There are active negotiations with VC funds and the launch of the necessary legal entities for fundraising.
• Also the marketing of the Units Network and the Waves Ecosystem is moving forward. This week I've already done 3 podcasts, and on Monday I will be speaking at a conference in Dubai. I recommend you attend it as well.
• We can already say that the Zealy campaign has successfully launched and we can recap the results of the first sprint. About 1000 people have participated and I recommend paying attention to it if you haven't already.

Q & A

Q: What about the -WXG tokens buyback?

Sasha: It's still going on and I think it's worth waiting for the Units Network release. With it the volume of this buyback should increase significantly.

Q: How is leverage trading doing? Is it still being developed?

Sasha: Yes, leverage trading on WX is almost ready, but needs some more time for frontend development. I think we can aim for a release by the end of May.

Q: When is the next WIND distribution?

Sasha: As far as I can remember the entire WAVES token of the Neutrino treasury has already been used for the buyback.

Q: And how exactly will the distribution of this pool's awards happen?

Sasha: They will be directed to Neutrino DAO and it will distribute the income between participants/gNSBT holders.

Q: When should we expect the announcement of the Units Network launch?

Sasha: Stay tuned for more news. We are currently running a marketing campaign to help maximize attention to the release, but it takes a bit of time. I think it will be closer to August this year.

Q: And how does the Units Network funding work? Are VCs interested in L2MP token?

Sasha: They are interested in allocating UNIT0, And now we are talking about a form of vesting of UNIT0 for them. I think there will be a few different options.

Q: What about the Units Network API? Will it use its own API or will it be directly borrowed from the ETH blockchain?

Sasha: In this case, both API and RPC will be used 100% similar to the ETH blockchain.

Q: Will it be possible to merge the EVM API and the ETH blockchain API?

Sasha: In theory yes, I think it is possible, however the benefit of this is questionable.

Q: Are you supporting BAI?

Sasha: We support this community project, I often retweet their announcements and try to help them as much as possible. I think their project really stands out among many AI projects in the cryptosphere.

Q: For a very long time, incoming XTN transactions from non-native blockchains have been processed manually, is there no way to speed up this process? 

Sasha: In fact, just today I managed to talk to the team responsible for this, and they promised to resolve this situation soon. Quite possibly even today.

Q: Through which platform is the XTN buyback currently taking place?

Sasha: It's still going through Swop.Fi's liquidity pools.

Q: Can you tell us about the Solar Waves project? 

Sasha: Of course! One of our community members is planning to organize a project where users will be able to get NFT tokens tied to solar panels, which in turn will generate income for their users. And all this will be organized through DAO in the Power DAO protocol.

Q: At the moment to become a miner on Units Network, the balance of a node should be equivalent to 20K WAVES tokens?

Sasha: Yes, however this is not a finalized value and will be easy enough to change in the future!

Q: Any progress regarding the police report, regarding the stolen PWR tokens?

Sasha: Yes, at the moment those funds are still on KuCoin and now the police are communicating with KuCoin representatives, it's worth waiting and giving them a couple more days.

Q: Is Neutrino planning to launch something on the Units Network?

Sasha: Sure, I think they'll launch Neutrino Index on Units.

Q: What about the distribution of awards for WAVES stakers?

Sasha: It really hasn't happened yet, however with the upcoming massive onboarding and development of Mother DAO it could be done.

Q: I want to launch my project on Waves. who can help me with funding?

Sasha: I think you should go to Waves DAO. This is where you will be able to offer terms for financing your project.

Q: Why not relaunch Vires.Finance before Units Network?

Sasha: There was such an intention, but Numeris DAO did not receive sufficient funding to make this happen.
