AMA with Sasha 19/7/24

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• We have finally implemented Units Network gateways on TestNet! And although technically they are already done, they need a TestNet interface, and you can get 300K L2MP for its development. Find out more about this contest here.
• The development of Units Network is now complete and all that remains is to further grow our marketing campaigns, which is what we will be doing for the rest of this summer.
• I would like to organize a small contest regarding our TVL campaign. We are preparing a massive marketing TVL campaign for Units Network, and before it starts, I would love to see the amount of funds locked exceed 1 million USD.
• So here’s contest! If your transaction becomes the last to reach the TVL campaign capitalization of 1 million USD, you will get 250K L2MP tokens! 
• Also, the last user who makes a transaction up to block 4'267'036 will get 50k L2MP. Note that only transactions for a minimum amount of 10 WAVES tokens will count.

Q & A

Q: Do you think there's a way to simulate a real democratic model on blockchain for decision making?

Sasha: Yes, of course! Just go to https://power.tech/. I advise you to pay attention to this project, I think it is exactly what you are looking for.

Q: What do you think about the Function 23 proposal? It hasn't gotten much support from the community so far.

Sasha: Yes, while users of the ecosystem are still skeptical, this is an opportunity for us to gain some independence from CEx solutions, and users are concerned about the price. And if that's the case, I'm not going to insist on a proposal and try to find a new solution for the situation.

Q: Yes, I think the community is afraid of the price dropping.

Sasha: To be honest I do not share this fear, the funds will be spent on solving the remaining "legacy" problems of the ecosystem, development and funding of new projects through Waves DAO, so it should also have a positive effect for the WAVES price.

Q: Or maybe if the proposal doesn't pass just suggest a lesser increase of inflation?

Sasha: I don't think it's not going to be fair, and I already have a couple ideas for an alternative resolution to the situation.

Q: I participated in the TVL campaign, however I am wondering how much UNIT0 I will get in exchange for the UP points I received for the deposit?

Sasha: Early birds who participated in the TVL campaign will share a significant portion of the supply, I can say for sure that it will be more than 10%. However, not all aspects have been discussed with VC and therefore I can't share the exact number of tokens.

Q: What happened to PETE, its price has gone up considerably lately.

Sasha: Yes, we will be celebrating its first birthday next week.
