AMA with Sasha 21/7/23

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• Vires deposit owners of v1 markets including the legacy ones, vested XTN and WXG token holders will be able to exchange their tokens into MPT token, then they will be able to start generating a FEE token of L2 network. The idea is to let MPT holders generate 50% of the total supply of new FEE token, and thus return their funds within 1 year.

Q & A

Q: The SURF snapshot for the POWER token drop hasn't been done yet?

Sasha: No, I think we should hold off on it for a while.

Q: What about WAVES on the -WXG Vires markets?

Sasha: I think the focus now should be on the upcoming vesting release for these markets.

Q: Any news on Waves 2.0?

Sasha: Of course, more than that, we are launching an L2 blockchain that will support EVM, which will be the first step towards Waves 2.0

Q: Will Waves 2.0 add more functionality to WX?

Sasha: Yes, the ability to integrate EVMs will be added.

Q: Will I receive WAVES or LP tokens if I participate in the Waves DAO?

Sasha: If you are a DAO liquidity provider, you will receive DAO LP tokens.

Q: What about SURF holders, will there be any MPT drops for them?

Sasha: I think I should determine how much MPT should be allocated for this, however it is entirely possible that such a drop will happen. 

Q: Has the marketing DAO still not launched?

Sasha: At the moment I'm still focused on Waves 2.0 and the L2 blockchain, however when the L2 work is completed, it will be time to launch the marketing DAO as well.

Q: What will happen to the Alameda funds that are currently in the VIres protocol?

Sasha: As I recall I have already shared information with the community on this. About six months ago, the liquidators already contacted us, and without coming to anything, communication with them was lost. I don't think anything will happen to these funds any time soon.

Q: What's going to happen to NSBT now?

Sasha: We are now planning to restore XTN operation, and as soon as the excess XTN supply is burned, NSBT will also resume its functions.

Q: Is there any news regarding Waves Ducks?

Sasha: Yes, I think we can expect an announcement next week.

Q: Are there any other ways to redeem USDC and USDT besides using WX's fee signer?

Sasha: Unfortunately not yet, this may change if arrangements are made with the VC, but for now the plan is to increase trading volumes on the WX as well as increase the fee itself.

Q: But it's going to take decades!

Sasha: Without the growth of trade volumes and external investments? Yes, definitely! That is why we are trying to ensure both of these conditions.

Q: When will SWOP EGG and WEST be added to the Neutrino treasury?

Sasha: I think you should do the MPT swap first and see what the results are.

Q: What are your thoughts on BAI?

Sasha: I think it's extremely interesting and could be successful, but I think it needs something new, like a way to interact with AI via blockchain.

Q: What do you think about a project like MetaRace? They no longer want to stay on the Waves blockchain and are looking for other ecosystems.

Sasha: As far as I know they submitted a funding proposal to Waves DAO, but the proposal was not accepted. In fact, they offered to just buy tokens of their project at market price, I don't think it is reasonable to approve such an offer.

Q: Are further POWER drops canceled?

Sasha: No, they are not canceled, however doing them now will have a negative impact on the price of POWER. Currently, the next POWER drop is scheduled after the completion of the first Waves DAO epoch in August.

Q: What happened to Waves Labs?

Sasha: Unfortunately we had to close it down.

Q: So we will be able to exchange funds from v1 Vires markets to XTN?

Sasha: Not quite, you'll be able to exchange LP tokens of your XTN deposits and vesting for MPT.

Q: When will XTN be worth $1?

Sasha: I think we can expect it by the end of this year.

Q: Is the XTN buyout still active?

Sasha: Yes, and it's done every five minutes.
