AMA with Sasha 23/2/24
Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. This is a short recap, the full recording of the weekly AMA from 23/2/24 can be found here.
//Recap Start//
Key Points:
- We are actively preparing for the launch of Units Network, as well as for the start of L2MP retrodrop, which is almost ready. I advise everyone to join, this will be especially beneficial for those who will be taking part in the retrodrop from the very beginning, as each block will distribute an equivalent amount of rewards between all participants, and as long as there are fewer participants, each of them will receive more L2MP tokens.
- The WX.Network team is also actively preparing the release of Synthetic Tokens and Derivatives. Essentially, WX.Network will have a decentralized futures marketplace, which will be similar to perpetual futures, but I think this is a rather unique idea due to the specifics of its implementation.
- These markets are going to be bootstrapped in two stages. In the first stage there will be a drop of synthetic assets to be traded on WX.Network. The first drop of these assets will happen with a synthetic BTC token, and it will be given to all WX DAO participants. After that, margin trading will start.
Q & A
Q: What will be the trading fee on the Synthetic Asset Market?
Sasha: The fees will be similar to the current spot trading terms on WX.Network.
Q: What about Waves Domains? Is a refund for NFT domain holders still planned?
Sasha: I recently spoke to the team of this project, and they promise to publish a roadmap next week. I think we should wait for it first.
Q: Have XTN swaps in L2MP stopped, or can they still be done?
Sasha: No, they haven't stopped, however as long as the price of L2MP doesn't exceed the price of XTN, this swap doesn't make much sense.
Q: What is the Neutrino Team's plan now regarding Neutrino index?
Sasha: Yes, they've already prepared an action plan and I'll make sure it's published next week.
Q: Is there already a launch schedule or launch steps for the first L2 Units Network?
Sasha: First, soon there will be a retrodrop campaign for three months to help bring additional liquidity to the new network as well as a marketing campaign.
Q: What about PETE? Will there be any releases in the near future?
Sasha: I think we need to focus on Units Network first, but after this release, we can prepare something for PETE as well.
Q: Could you please clarify, when trading on margin, under what conditions will a fee be charged for holding a position?
Sasha: Specifically this fee will not be applied, since there is no need for funding in the WX.Network margin trading model. The fee will be charged only for opening or closing a position. Funding is simply not necessary, so you can sell or buy a synthetic asset ONLY at the current Oracle price. I think this model will be easier to understand.
Q: Will there be any requirements for the L2MP lock when staking?
Sasha: No, you will be able to collect L2MP from staking within a week. I think it is dangerous to make the lock period less than a week.
Q: What about Numeris? When can we expect it to launch?
Sasha: Numeris was initially unsuccessful in raising funds for the launch, but the project is still being prepared and another fundraising attempt will be made after the launch of Units.Network.
