AMA with Sasha 28/6/24
Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:
- We have been working hard to prepare for the release of Units Network, in particular the Units Gateway is being actively developed, testing is underway and it will be going public soon.
- As part of our marketing, we are preparing to launch an Influencer campaign on Monday next week, and the TVL campaign on Tuesday! At the start, the TVL campaign will only be for the WAVES token, but over time users will have the opportunity to provide liquidity in other tokens as well.
- Furthermore, the TVL campaign will be integrated into the questing platform, where liquidity providers will be earning UP (Units Points) which can later be exchanged for the UNIT0 token.
- You can also expect a whole host of articles and podcasts to be published across a wide variety of sources in the near future.
Q & A
Q: How long will the TVL Units campaign last?
Sasha: At least 2 months, but it may well last longer.
Q: You mentioned that we have new podcasts coming, but for what communities?
Sasha: We are expecting a lot of podcasts in English, but I also promised an AMA for our Russian-speaking community. We also found partners in Korea, and I think we should do something for the Turkish and Spanish-speaking communities.
Q: What do you think about Puzzle Network's intention to expand outside the Waves network?
Sasha: I think this is a smart move! Even now EVM blockchains are continuing to evolve, and I think we need to interact with communities outside of Waves.
Q: Why not remove the daily withdrawal limits on the vested XTN at Vires Finance?
Sasha: This idea has been discussed for quite some time but it hasn't been voted on yet. In general it is possible, however I don't see much benefit from this.
Q: Are there any plans to maintain the price of NSBT?
Sasha: I think that if the Neutrino team launches their project on Units Network, there won't be much point in maintaining the price directly, as it will be done by indirect methods.
Q: How is Power DAO's marketing going?
Sasha: I think it should be more actively promoted on podcasts, and also a telegram bot is already being tested, but the marketing campaign itself is still being finalized. There is a serious question about how to encourage users attracted by this campaign to participate in the DAO itself.
Q: You said that Units Network is actively partnering with VCs, but what exactly does that imply? Are they looking to get a share of UNIT0 in exchange for an investment or to launch their own projects?
Sasha: Simply put, they are interested in both options. VCs often invest in what they consider to be successful projects to make a profit, but good VCs have the necessary connections to help the project they invested in develop further by bringing in other projects to interact with them in some way.
Q: Who is developing Units Network Gateways right now?
Sasha: The core team at Waves.
Q: What does Waves 2.0 involve?
Sasha: This is an update to the Waves ecosystem, which includes both the launch of Units Network and an update to the Waves blockchain, with the goal of making the ecosystem more scalable.
Q: The launch of the first Units side chains should happen soon after the launch of Units Network, right?
Sasha: Yes, this process should take almost an immediate effect.
Q: Will the revenue from block validation of all these side chains be received by WAVES miners/stakers?
Sasha: Exactly!
Q: What's the point of the Lumia's interaction with Waves?
Sasha: At its core, they will be helping with liquidity provision by moving it from CEx outside the ecosystem, to DEx within Waves.
