Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Q & A
Q: Why did Binance mark WAVES with a monitoring badge? Do you think it might have some consequences?
Sasha: I think that Binance wants us to release Units Network as soon as possible. We are actively communicating with representatives of this platform, and I think that if we stick to our plans and roadmaps, nothing bad will happen and this situation will be resolved promptly.
Q: I've seen that the Neutrino Protocol plans to burn all unissued XTN tokens.Will this have any effect on the exchange rate of SURF to XTN?
Sasha: No, the plan is to still exchange tokens at a 1:1 rate when the XTN price reaches 1.15 USD
Q: What will be the Bridge/Gateway between Units Network and Waves blockchain?
Sasha: That's a good question! There will be no such gateway, as all transactions between these blockchains will take place at the Waves consensus level. Because Waves is transforming from an L1 blockchain to an L0, a sphere of communication between very different networks.
Q: Which wallet will be used to interact with the Units Network?
Sasha: Right now you can use MetaMask, but there will be other integrations in the future.
Q: When is the release of the L2 node?
Sasha: The current TestNet is only the first release. I think you will be able to launch your L2 node by the end of April.
Q: Will there be Power DAO on Units Network?
Sasha: Of course! Moreover, I think we should organize an EVM version of Power DAO and use it for Units DAO, the governance of the L2 ecosystem.
Q: Is the UNIT0 token faucet working already?
Sasha: Yes, the token faucet and Blockchain Explorer are already available. The next step will be to add DEX to TestNet.
Q: So it will be a separate DEX? And WX.Network won't be on Units Network?
Sasha: Yes, it will be a separate project, but as we've discussed, WX.Network will trade tokens from all Units Network blockchains, and will essentially take over the liquidity aggregator niche.
Q: When will retrodrop's invite code be posted?
Sasha: We decided that we should first do a marketing campaign around TestNet and then do the retrodrop, I think it will help to attract more attention to Units Network.
Q: I'm having trouble using the UNIT0 faucet.
Sasha: Yes, currently one wallet can only claim 0.01 UNIT0 every 4 hours.
Q: When will the Neutrino Index launch on the ETH blockchain?
Sasha: As far as I know we should expect a release this summer, but until then the Neutrino team will have to finalize negotiations with DEX representatives on that network.
