AMA with Sasha 6/10/23
Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. - Neutrino DAO Launch! Essentially, the Neutrino Protocol's governance is transitioning to the Power DAO Protocol. 100 tokens will be distributed to gNSBT holders, so be sure to stake your NSBT and SURF at https://neutrino.at/.
- Launch of the PETE marketing campaign! Right now you can already enter the first contest. We are expecting two more. We hope that this will attract new users to the project and expect to reach a PETE price of 1 USD.
Q & A
Q: Last week you said that the work on L2 was progressing quite slowly, and that there were a lot of difficulties. Should we expect any release delays?
Sasha: No, I didn't imply anything like that, no delays are expected! Waves 1.5 is already on StageNet and we are expecting to launch on TestNet! After that we can expect L2 feature releases, I would say January would be a realistic release forecast.
Q: Why not list PETE on CEXes?
Sasha: Let's finish this marketing campaign and then start negotiating with representatives of centralized exchanges.
Q: I heard that we are expecting another DAO on the Power DAO protocol.
Sasha: Yes, we are expecting two more DAOs! (WX DAO and FUD DAO). And also Galka is preparing her non-profit DAO.
Q: XTN is approaching a price of 0.1 USD, does this mean that Vires v1 marketplaces will start vesting soon?
Sasha: I think we should start v1 markets vesting as soon as next week! As far as I can see the total XTN withdrawal limit from vesting (200k XTN) has not been depleted for the last couple of days, so I think it would be quite appropriate to allow v1 deposits to make withdrawals as well.
Q: How's the development of futures and derivatives for WX going?
Sasha: It's going great, we already have a finalized concept that is somewhat similar to the аutures trading on other exchanges.
Q: Have you interacted with the StakeBooster team recently?
Sasha: Yes, I advised them to contact https://twitter.com/deemru to verify their Smart Contracts, but they said they don't need his services yet and will probably launch the project before December. They expect to finally launch their project this month, in October.
Q: Waves Domains has been quiet for a while. Is this project still okay?
Sasha: As far as I remember Waves Domains is a project of the Keeper Wallet team and they are now actively preparing for the launch of their token. I will contact the team and clarify the situation with their project.
Q: What about AXLY? Any news on it?
Sasha: In spite of a turbulent launch of the project, I think it's going to do well! They are already preparing the release of staking, which will essentially be an aggregator of Puzzle liquidity pools!
Q: Is Waves Ducks expecting some kind of release as well?
Sasha: I'm not sure, it's better to contact https://t.me/Black_Turtle, as I try not to interfere with their project development.
Q: What about gateways for PETE tokens?
Sasha: Bram is just helping me with the implementation of a gateway for ERC-20.
Q: When will it be possible to return XTN tokens from other networks?
Sasha: The WX team is already working on this and I think that soon the opportunity to return these tokens to the Waves network will appear. However, to avoid pressure on the price, we will be withdrawing these tokens on a first-come, first-served basis. I think when the time comes, we will have an instruction on this.
Q: Do you think L1 Waves projects will lose their popularity or relevance once L2 is launched?
Sasha: No, L2 is just a specialized tool/adapter on top of the current blockchain, and I think it will only add interest and utility to L1 projects.
Q: What about those Turkish VCs? Are they planning to launch anything anytime soon?
Sasha: No, it's quite a long process, but I think we can expect news from them by the end of the year.
Q: Can Child DAOs launch their Child DAOs?
Sasha: At this point, it's not really clear why such a structure might be needed... so no.
