AMA with Sasha 6/9/24

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• We've started onboarding for the Units Network users as we're only 3 weeks away from its release. And the best way to do this is to simply stake your WAVES tokens, as this will allow you to get UNIT0 tokens once the network launches. And don’t forget about TVL, Questing, Zealy campaigns and of course L2MP staking.
• I think our goal will be to attract another 100K new users, so get ready for a new round of our campaign.
• Next week we also plan to launch the app in Telegram. I think it will also be a great onboarding tool, which will be promoted by our KOL managers. So expect an announcement around the middle of next week.

Q & A

Q: What do you think of the latest PETE and Arkimals updates?

Sasha: As far as I understand Arkimals is just a new stage of the Waves Ducks development, but PETE really got a major update with a new reward mechanic for traders. In fact, now there is a pool, and the trader who makes the first trade for a certain price milestone will receive a reward equal to 10% of the pool's supply. I think that now traders have a new incentive for trading and it will help PETE to grow further.

Q: What about L2MP?

Sasha: Regarding L2MP, with the start of onboarding, all staked L2MP have been blocked. Which means that the number of tokens in circulation will not increase anytime soon.

Q: What new projects are coming to Waves given the upcoming releases?

Sasha: I can't announce everything yet, however as a teaser, you can expect a memecoin platform. Also new gateways, maybe even some third-party projects and a number of projects that will be implemented on Units Network.

Q: Do you already know which projects will launch first?

Sasha: Of course! A number of DEx's will launch almost immediately after the Units Network release.

Q: What are the upcoming events we can see you at? 

Sasha: I plan to attend TOKEN2049 in Singapore and a few others, but it's hard to say which ones yet. I think we should do more of our own events after Units Network is up and running!

Q: What about the UNIT0 tokenomics?

Sasha: In essence, it is extremely similar to ETH tokenomics, implying that UNIT0 tokenomics can be deflationary if there is enough load on the network. Supply is distributed according to the vesting principle, between L2MP stakers, TVL participants, and the rest of the marketing campaigns. As for mining, the amount of tokens received from it should not significantly exceed the amount of burned tokens taken from fees for the network transaction execution.
