AMA with Sasha 7/6/24

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• A lot of things happened this week, but many of you are particularly interested to know why Binance decided to delist the WAVES token on Monday. The Binance platform itself did not provide any reasons or explanations for the delisting, so I suggest you read my Tweet which explains my position on the situation.
• As for the consequences, we should take into account that thanks to Waves DAO now the whole ecosystem is financed by a part of the WAVES token emission. And the price fluctuations may introduce additional problems to this process.
• However, the ecosystem will also benefit greatly from Units Network. I think that with the release of Units and the soon to be launched TVL campaign, we will be able to move forward.

Q & A

Q: Coinbase has launched a new wallet with no Gas fees. Are there any plans to collaborate with it?

Sasha: Sounds interesting, I'll try to find out more about it and get in touch.

Q: What about the withdrawal of -WXG assets? 

Sasha: The plan has not changed, eventually these tokens will be bought back.

Q: About an ongoing marketing campaign. Telegram would be a good platform to start the following ones.

Sasha: I agree, and we are already preparing a number of interesting ideas to implement on Telegram. 

Q: I hear there's an idea to move the governance to Telegram?

Sasha: There were many different ideas for integration, including Power DAO.

Q: It is worth returning DASH, XMR, ZCash tokens to the Waves network.

Sasha: I have nothing against these tokens, but it is extremely difficult to implement decentralized gateways for them. And with centralized gateways there may be problems. However, it is definitely something to consider.

Q: I think WAVES could use new listings on DEX platforms.

Sasha: I agree, I've seen similar requests among our community and we're looking at some interesting options.

Q: When will the first L0 - L1 Gateways for Units Network be available?

Sasha: There are still some problems with their synchronization but it is possible that we will start testing them next week.

Q: When will the TVL campaign for the WAVES token start?

Sasha: I think we can expect it in a couple weeks.
