AMA with Sasha 8/9/23

Another week, another AMA session with the Waves’ founder Sasha Ivanov. This week, Sasha has prepared some updates on the ecosystem progress, answered lots of questions and had a live dialogue with the community members. Key Points:

• The XTN burn is going on actively and has already reached the volume of 500K tokens per day! The burning process will continue until the token price stabilizes.
• Also, XTN continues to be swapped to L2MP, however the process has slowed down a bit. Let us remind you that swap will also be possible for Vires V1 Depositors!
• WX is anticipating IDO. A member of the WX team is about to launch a project (StakeBooster), IDO will start on Monday. In essence it will be a liquidity pool, which will allow to receive income from the WX lock, with the possibility to withdraw your funds.

Q & A

Q: Based on recent statements, it seems that resolving the debt situation on the Vires V1 is not the highest priority at the moment, is that correct?
Sasha: No, but we need to allow XTN to increase in price to at least 0.1 USD.

Q: What are your thoughts on the non-Profit DAO suggested recently?

Sasha: I think it is definitely worth launching! Moreover, our Russian-speaking community also intends to launch its own DAO, and I would advise to collaborate with them.

Q: I exchanged my funds in Vires V1 for L2MP, how does this help me to get my money back?
Sasha: You have the opportunity to stake your tokens and start receiving income from, but these tokens can also be used for L2 network token mining. This will help you get your money back and also bring you income. But this is only one of the options to withdraw from Vires V1.

Q: What's the status of Waves 1.5?

Sasha: Development is ongoing, I think this update will appear on StageNet before the end of September.

Q: L2 token will be required to pay fees on the L2 blockchain, right?

Sasha: Correct. 

Q: And where will these fees go?

Sasha: At the moment it is planned to partially burn the token, and part of the fees will be returned to the miners.

Q: Why does the supply of XTN in free circulation sometimes increase?

Sasha: As far as I can tell this is due to the release of funds from Vires vesting.

Q: What do you think about the recent news and the growth of the Waves Ducks?

Sasha: Yes, there have been a lot of positive changes in the duck ecosystem recently with the introduction of a new gene. And I think this is a turning point in their history, I think we can expect more good news from them in the future.

Q: Do you think you can attract VCs or popular projects on the L2 blockchain?

Sasha: Of course, I think we will need marketmaking for the fee token, but we should not forget that it is not just one blockchain, it is an opportunity to create your own blockchain based on L2, which will be very interesting for some projects.
