Build the Future: Units Network Hackathon

Units Network Hackathon Rules

Participation Requirements:

Teams must consist of at least 2 and no more than 5 members. Individual applicants will be merged into teams during team formation sessions at the event's start.

Participants must complete the application form provided on the Units Network platform before the event.

Team Collaboration:

Each team must submit a project idea to be developed on Units Network.

Teams will develop their projects during the hackathon and present them to the jury at the end of the event.

Hackathon Timeline:

The hackathon will start on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM and will end on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

Participants may only leave the hackathon venue with permission from the organizers for special circumstances (health issues, family emergencies, etc.).

Project Ideas and Submission Requirements:

Project ideas must be submitted to the organizers before the hackathon begins. Changes can be made during the competition, but these must be communicated to and approved by the organizers.

Submitted ideas must be original. Projects that have been used in other events will not be accepted.

Participants must submit the following documents for project delivery:

  • A working demo version or prototype of the project.
  • A presentation introducing the project (7 minutes max).
  • A link to the project’s code repository (on GitHub or a similar platform).
  • A written documentation explaining the project’s purpose, technical details, and integration with the Units Network.

Presentation and Jury Evaluation:

Each team will present their projects to the jury with a 7-minute presentation, followed by a 3-minute Q&A session.

The jury will evaluate projects based on innovation, technical proficiency, applicability on the Units Network, and presentation quality.

Event Venue and Infrastructure:

Participants will be provided with internet access, work desks, and rest areas at the event venue.

Participants must bring their own laptops and the necessary software.

Training and Workshops:

Technical training and workshops will be conducted by Units Network experts before and during the hackathon.

Participation in these training sessions and workshops is recommended but not mandatory.

Event Rules and Conduct:

All participants are expected to maintain respectful, ethical, and professional behavior.

Any rule violations or unethical behavior may result in disqualification.

Prizes:

At the end of the hackathon, winning teams will receive prizes determined by the Units Network. Prizes may include cash, Units tokens, or credits usable within the Units Network ecosystem.

Communication:

All announcements and notifications during the event will be made through the official Units Network Telegram group and email.

Participants can share their questions and feedback via the Telegram group.

Hackathon Schedule:

The hackathon will start at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, and end at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025.

All participants must actively work in the physical or digital space during the event. Leaving the venue is only possible with prior notice.

Leaving the venue or taking breaks outside the specified hours may result in disqualification.

Workspace and Equipment:

Participants will be provided with desks and chairs for physical events, and virtual rooms will be allocated for digital events.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own devices and software. Units Network will provide support for specific APIs and blockchain infrastructure.

Travel and accommodation expenses are the participants' responsibility. Certain conditions may apply for support to out-of-town participants.

Hackathon Content and Rules:

Teams will develop a Web3 or blockchain-based project on Units Network.

Project ideas can be determined before the hackathon; however, all coding and development must occur during the hackathon.

Copying projects or using work from other teams is strictly prohibited.

Mentorship and Training:

Each team will receive 2 hours of daily mentorship. Mentors will provide technical and strategic support.

Participation in workshops and panel sessions is recommended but not mandatory. The Units Network development team will conduct these activities.

Presentations and Jury Evaluation:

Projects will be presented at the end of the hackathon. The presentation will last 7 minutes and include 3 minutes of Q&A.

The jury will evaluate projects based on innovation, technical complexity, integration with Units Network, coding, and presentation quality.

Discipline and Conduct Rules:

Participants must maintain a professional and respectful attitude throughout the event.

Damaging the event space or digital environments and engaging in malicious behavior will result in disqualification.

Prizes and Distribution:

$13,000 in prizes will be distributed to top teams and those meeting various criteria.

Winning projects may gain opportunities for integration and collaboration within the Units Network ecosystem.

Award-winning projects may be featured in future Units Network events and community promotions.

Terms and Conditions:

Participants accept the Units Network Hackathon rules and commit to acting within these guidelines.

The organization reserves the right to disqualify in case of rule violations.

The organization is not responsible for any technical issues that may arise.

Intellectual Property Rights:

Participants retain intellectual property rights over the projects developed. However, Units Network reserves the right to use the projects for promotional and marketing purposes.

Participants have the right to register their projects based on the information provided during the application process.

Privacy and Data Protection:

Participant’s personal data will be used solely for hackathon organization and communication-related to Units Network events and will not be shared with third parties.

All participants must ensure the confidentiality of information shared during the event.
